GREAT OR SMALL, THEY NEED OUR HELP

Millions of innocent animals are condemned to suffer and die from the very moment they are born. Millions of puppies succumb to starvation, disease and violence before their eyes are even open. But our eyes are open. We can see their suffering. By working together, by insisting that injustice and cruelty cannot continue, it is within our power to have it stopped.

See how ROLDA Inc. managed to humanely reduce a population of 10,000 strays in 6 years using minimal funding and logistics.

OUR IMPACT

  • WE PROVIDE HUMANE SOLUTIONS

Focusing on solutions to stray overpopulation is just temporarily treating the symptoms of a far bigger problem. It’s by targeting the root causes, the community perceptions of how and why animal abuse and abandonment problems have come about, that we will find permanent solutions. ROLDA is determined to address these issues. We’re confident, given our many years of involvement with rescue, animal rehabilitation, and local community work, that we will succeed.

Failure has never been, and never will be, an option for our dedicated team of international staff and volunteers.

  • WE RESCUE, PROVIDE SHELTER & REHABILITATION. BUT IS IT ENOUGH?

Our team rescues, provides shelter, rehabilitates, and rehomes dogs all year round. We rescue dogs from Romania and adopt them to loving families across the world. Our team works all day, every day, to save the lives of not just dogs, but so many other creatures.

Our ROLDA strategy is always aimed at providing long-term, permanent and sustainable solutions to the massive problem of abandoned, abused and stray animals.

  • WE FIGHT INDIFFERENCE, POVERTY, LACK OF EDUCATION

Animal abuse and abandonment issues are largely the combined result of neglect and community indifference to these poor souls, coupled with a lack of awareness of the truly sad situation of millions of dumped animals in Romania. These problems are most prevalent in low-income communities, where families or seniors can no longer afford to keep their pets.

This is why ROLDA works so hard in rural villages, to educate people and help improve the lives of their animals and life in general for all those living in the communities where we operate.

  • WE FIGHT ABANDONMENT AND UNCONTROLLED REPRODUCTION

The main reason dogs become strays is that pets are abandoned. Stray overpopulation occurs when these dogs reproduce in their uncontrolled environment.

Countless puppies and their mothers suffer slow deaths as a result of living on the harsh, urban streets. The males fight and injure each other, with the weaker dogs often retreating to alleyways or local dumps to die slow, agonising deaths from their injuries or infection.

Sometimes, local people – even children – are caught in the middle and injured. Some people have even died from stray dog attacks.

But it doesn’t have to be this way. Working together, we can help prevent the very root of the problem. ROLDA offers free sterilisation, vaccinations, and microchipping for dogs and cats from poor communities, or anyone trying to keep their beloved pet. This greatly reduces the number of unwanted animals born.

  • YOU ARE PART OF THE SOLUTION

A one time gift or a legacy donation will be maximised for the benefit of homeless and abused dogs. And also the low-income villagers, seniors, and even students, who do not want their four-legged friends taken away and destroyed.

ROLDA is located in south-east Romania, and we work tirelessly to serve one of the poorest regions of the country. Our sanctuaries are a real home for hundreds of dogs: the only home these dogs have ever known. And it never would have been possible without your help.

Will you help us save them?
